Before you do that, I recommend that you re-install the latest version of the NVidia driver so you can avoid getting a similar problem again. So I decided to RTFM and I found that the most common solution is to actually re-install the game. I tried searching, I checked Nvidia settings if it was just using the original settings, I had already downgraded my GPU to 1x, I tried re-downgrading and I even tried re-upping! None of these worked. I have a notebook and the laptop both with an Nvidia GPU. It is good to know that there is a fix out there for the problem. I had the same problem with the game as well. If you do not want the scaling setting and want to use the default properties, you can use the above method. If it is not the correct scale, you can undo the changes. Click on the setting to change the scaling for the screen and change the settings to fit the screen perfectly.

Open the Nvidia control panel and go to the Graphics tab. The best method for doing this is in the Graphics settings. Videos will be disabled if you have it enabled. Just right click on desktop and select properties this will open up the Nvidia control panel. You can do this setting in Nvidia control panel. If you wish to install a mod, please be sure that the mod is compatible and appropriate for your Far Cry 4 version. Add-on content is compatible with Far Cry 4 and Far Cry Primal.
